My mom's sister Bernice had her 50th birthday a few weeks ago, so Mom, Jill & I flew out to Charleston, South Carolina for a surprise girls weekend that her two daughters were planning!
Here is our driver holding a sign for us at the airport. We were pretty excited about having a driver holding a sign for us, we felt pretty special!
He didn't want to be in the picture though!
Stephanie (my cousin) is pregnant with the first grandchild, so Mom gave Bernice the storybook that their mom read to them growing up. My mom reads it to Jill's kids and mine all the time, and it has become a special Grandma tradition.
Mom and Bernice
The next day we went and toured the Magnolia Plantation, which was fun and gorgeous.
A slave cabin
The tour guide stopped in front of this snake forever! He was not happy with us in the back of the cart because we stopped listening to him while he blabbed on and on about the snake! It was pretty funny though.
Apparently it's pretty rare to have two hydrangea blossoms on the same plant that blossom different colors. Our tour guide says the pH level in the soil determines the blossom color.
GORGEOUS!
The group (minus Jill): Stephanie, Whitney, Aunt Bernice, Mom, me.
The Courting Bench
Of course we found time for snowcones!
I have lots more pictures but I won't post them all at once. We had so much fun and loved spending time with our Aunt and cousins that we don't get to see very often. It was just like old times though!
