Floating Lantern Hawaii

On Memorial Day we went down to Waikiki for a Floating Lantern Ceremony. Some musical and cultural groups performed and then a Buddhist Ceremony to honor the dead. People wrote names and prayers on the outside of the lanterns and then let them float off into the ocean. There were hundreds of lanterns, it was really a beautiful sight.

Waimano Falls

On Monday, May 26th, we went on a hike that led to a waterfall with a rope swing! The hike was fun and the waterfall was refreshing! It was only a 3.5 mile hike, but check out the steep hill covered in tree roots! It was like a stair master!

Diamond Head Hike!

On Saturday, May 3 we hiked Diamond Head! The crater is what remains of an old volcano and is now a popular hiking destination. We finally decided to try it and saw a great view of Waikiki and Honolulu!

We had a great time sleeping, hiking, hang-gliding, hunting for treasure from the tv show Lost, and swimming with the sharks. Paul is lucky enough to come back to Oahu later this summer to start his freshman year at BYU-Hawaii! What a difficult life!
