So, Jayden has been talking for weeks about how he wants to be ten, because one day he wanted to stay home while I went to the grocery store, and I told him he had to be ten to stay home alone.
So on the way home last night, here's how our conversation went.
J: "Mama, me want to be ten."
Me: "Oh really? Well, how many more birthdays do you need until you are ten?"
J: Counts on his fingers; shows three fingers, then counts the remaining fingers: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. 7 birthdays and me be ten!"
Me: "What are you going to do when you turn ten?"
J: "Um, me go to to the movies!"
Me: "Oh, what movie are you going to see?'
J: "Team Umizoomi!"
Me: "Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun! Can I come?"
J: "No, me go all myself!"
My heart broke a little. My three year old can't wait to grow up!
Preschool
Jayden started preschool today! A group of friends from church decided to get together and do a preschool for our kiddos. Jayden is so excited, and feels like such a big boy.
He's been talking for weeks about how he wants to be dropped off at work. After we went to the dentist we stopped by Daddy's work, and Jayden had to walk in all by himself, and after I was finally allowed to enter he kept telling me to go home and leave him there.
Then one day when we were going to the store he said he wanted to stay home, and Lincoln and I could go. I told him he had to be ten to stay home (just pulled out a number, don't really know what the law is), so now every day he keeps saying he wants to be ten.
The last few days I've been telling him all about school and how much fun it will be, how he will need to be a good listener, etc, and he told me he didn't want to go to school, he wanted to be dropped off at work.
This morning when he woke up I told him today was the day he gets to go to school and he turned to Daddy and said "Today I go to school, Mommy's going to drop me off!" I don't know what he was more excited about, going to school to play with his friends, or being dropped off!
Here's to my three year old, ready to move out, skip college, and get a job!
