Jayden's Birthday Party

Jayden had his 2nd birthday party Saturday! It was so much fun now that he is aware of what it means and that the party was all about him! We all had a great time!

We started out playing in the backyard chasing bubbles while the guests arrived.

The party decor. He particularly loved the big Buzz balloon on his chair.

Then we decorated party hats. Jayden went to a princess birthday party a month ago and they decorated prince/princess crowns, and so when we went to Party City to get stuff for his party, he had to wear his crown and kept saying we needed to gets hats. So, we bought hats, glitter, and Toy Story stickers so they could decorate their party hats.

Then we played Toy Story Bingo. I made bingo cards with stickers of the different Toy Story characters, and they won these blow thingies as prizes! They were a huge hit, they played with those blow things for a while.

Then we played Pass the Present. I bought little Toy Story dollar toys as prizes, and they each got one. They were so good about waiting their turn to get a present, it was so fun!

Then we played Jayden's favorite game, Freeze Dance. Daddy was in charge of the music, and the kids danced, clapped, and just boogied!

Then we ate. Here was the spread for Buzz's Birthday Buffet: Slinky Dogs, Pizza Planet Pizza, Jessie's Juice, Woody's Watermelon, Mr. Potato Head Chips, and Sheriff Woody Badge cookies.

Blowing out his candles!

Finally, we opened presents. The excitement on his face is too funny!

Giving his friends hugs, thanking them for the gifts. He has such a tender heart, I love it.

He loves this giant Woody doll, and now he has to sleep with both his dog and Woody. It's quite the chore to carry them both around, especially with his blanket.

This gift from Daddy was a huge hit...

Happy Birthday Jayden!! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Baby Announcement & Newborn Pics

We got some pictures taken, and a friend of mine made this darling baby announcement!
My sister came to visit for a week, and I didn't realize how exhausted I was until she came and I was actually able to take a nap! It was so much fun to have her here to help. She left her hubby in charge of her three kids to come take care of me & my boys! I have the best sister ever! Thanks again Jill and Nate!

Then my parents came the last day that my sister was here, so we left Dad & Papa in charge and us girls went to get lunch & pedicures at Red Rock, and it was heavenly! My sister and I got carded trying to enter the poolside bar, which is always an emotional boost! ;)

My sister and dad have both gone home now (tears!), but my mom has the summer off so she's the lucky one that gets to stay! She's reading Mockingjay, so she has to juggle grandson time, naps, and reading such an addicting book.

The rest of us are doing well. Lincoln is gaining weight like a champ, and today he measured 9 lbs 5 oz. Jayden is the most helpful big brother ever! He loves to pat Lincoln's back to help burp him, and now he pats everyone's back and says "BURP!!" He's such a boy.

When we got our pictures taken, there was one pose that we didn't buy, but Jayden was laying on his back and we put Lincoln on his chest. A few days later I was feeding Lincoln and Jayden wanted to help, so I told him to go get his 'baby' (yes, he has a baby doll, and if he can beat up on the doll instead of his brother, we have no problem with that!), and he recreated the exact pose with his baby, it was so cute.

And Brian and I are in survival mode, trying to get by on what little sleep we get-which, between a newborn and Jayden cutting his molars and deciding that 5 am is an acceptable time to rise and shine, no matter what time bedtime is-is not much.

Well, I'd best be going, I can hear the double nap timer ticking away!
