Jayden sure does love the park! For now he's content to watch everything and everyone and soak it all in, but it won't be long until he is everywhere and into everything! Here are some shots of his first trips to the park!

The Exploreum in Mobile
Here are pictures from our trip to Mobile, Alabama,to a hands-on Children's Museum. They had so many fun activities for all ages. They had an area all about dinosaurs, health and the human body (and we made smores), an area where they created their own roller coaster, and a hands-on area with activities about force, magnetism, pulleys, energy, etc. My favorite was a board that was covered in metal shavings shaped like little haystacks. Each "haystack" would vary the strength of the magnetism so the "haystacks" would dance to four different tunes! I should have taken a short video of it, but I must have gotten distracted by something else...(my 6 month old, maybe???)
Here Paige and Hannah are pretending they are newscasters. They had sample prompt cards, and a weather board so they could see how the weather really gets done against a plain blue wall, with the image cast on it. They thought this area was especially cool, and was one of their favorite parts. Paige interviewed me about a future meteor shower and how I was preparing, if I had brought anything in my house from my garage, and how scared I was. It was so much fun!
They had a fun ocean area for kids 5 & under. Jayden loved grasping all the big balls, especially because he had an endless supply of them! Chloe played with a little bit of everything, including Jayden!
Jayden's shirt says "If Dad can fix it, so can I"...We miss you Daddy!

Florida Part 1
We made it to Florida safely!
This is how Jayden entertained himself at the airport! His feet are quite entertaining! He won't keep his socks on, and it drives me crazy! Now Chloe likes to help and takes his socks off as well, so I'm amazed we haven't lost any socks yet. We'll see.
Jayden sure loves his cousins! He loves watching them and can't get enough of them! Sometimes I even have to turn his chair the other way so he can see his cousins and eat at the same time.
The other day Chloe and Jayden were getting their diapers changed at the same time, and Chloe looked at Jayden and laughed, so Jayden laughed back. Then Chloe laughed again, then Jayden, then Chloe, then Jayden, etc. Then Chloe growled, and so did Jayden! It was absolutely adorable! Chloe and Jayden have become quite the pair!
Jayden can also clap now, which is fun!
Here is a picture of the quilt we started making for Jayden's 1st birthday. It's so cute, I can't wait to finish it! I don't know how I'll be able to wait until his 1st birthday though, I like it too much to put it in a closet until July! The picture kind of looks funny to me because I think I imported it upside down and I don't want to take the time to fix it.
Until next time...
5 Lives
I saw this on a friend's blog and thought it sounded fun. It took me a while to finally do it, but here it is!
If you could live any 5 lives other than your own what would they be?
1. I would be an architect. When I was younger I used to save my money to buy books from Waldenbooks that were full of floor plans. I would look at them for hours, and mark my favorites. Eventually I decided I wanted to major in something I could actually use after getting my bachelor's degree, so I didn't pursue it, but I still love walking through model homes and looking online at builder's floorplans here in Vegas.
2. I would be a cook. I took a cooking class at BYU b/c I decided it was about time I figured out what the heck I was doing, and now I watch Rachael Ray every day and have a huge list of recipes I want to try. I feel confident enough now to experiment with new recipes and sometimes create my own. I could do without the dishes, though! Even right now, I have a yummy pork cider stew in the crockpot, and even though the countertops are covered in mess, I'd rather blog than go clean it up!
3. I would be a photographer. I would love to take a class on photography and learn all about it and how to get the right lighting, angles, and all the other mumbo jumbo.
4. I would be more musically talented. I played the French Horn all through high school, so I can read music well and know what is supposed to happen, but I wish I was a better/more confident singer and could at least play the hymns on the piano.
5. I would be better at sewing, quilting, and any & all other crafts. I can do some basic stuff, and I really enjoy any and all things crafty, but I have a hard time keeping up the patience to finish. I can't stand having a project halfway done, and I also can't stand the mess (which is why I don't scrapbook). Jayden and I will be visiting Jill soon while Nate is away, and we're going to make Jayden a quilt! I am extremely excited! I guess I need to get over myself and deal with my anti-mess annoyance! I'll be sure to post pictures as we get going on his quilt!
Anyway, that's who I would be, who would you be?

We are homeowners!
We finally closed on our house, and got the keys a week later! Good grief, buying a home is a huge pain in the butt! Thankfully, it is all over now. Here are some pics!
This is as you are standing in the front doorway. To the left is the kitchen/dining/great room. This entry, particularly the banister and railing to the loft upstairs is probably my favorite part of the home.

6 Months!
Jayden is now 6 months old! It's crazy how fast he grows and how much he changes! We had a Dr. appt on Friday and he is 17 lbs 15 oz! What a hunk!
Look at those big, blue eyes!
Some of Jayden's favorites:
Eating his fingers (yes, he's starting to suck his thumb!!!)
His plastic Lightning McQueen car
Looking in the mirror
Playing with the tags on all his toys
Anything that makes noise, most recently the piano
His Johnny Jump-Up (He really likes it if we jump along next to him)
Pulling on Mommy's hair and earrings
Playing with Mommy's big necklaces
Grabbing your face and blowing on your cheek
Jayden is all boy through and through. He also likes to be scared.

Here's to the next best 6 months of our lives! We love you Jay Jay!!!!
