Cell Phone

Whenever I get a text message or my phone rings Jayden says "Mommy, your phone is calling you."

Bumpy Road

We were driving home from our spring break "trip" (Brian and I have discussed the idea that when we go somewhere with kids it is not a vacation, it is a trip-vacations are for just us two!).  Anyway, we were driving home and Jayden says "This is a really bumpy road!  It's so bumpy I think my boogers might fall out!"

This kid cracks me up!

Heavenly Father Loves Me

Jayden loves being a Sunbeam (love is an understatement).  He wants to do everything, answer everything, to him Primary is just for him.  I teach the CTR 6 class, so I get to see how he reacts to everything, which I love.

They have a jar that they fill with marbles, every week the kids get to share how they know Heavenly Father loves them, and put a marble in the jar.  I try not to prompt Jayden and let him say what he feels, and today he said the funniest thing.

He walked up to the microphone, and said "I love to sleep, and Heavenly Father loves to give me FIRE!"

Later he was telling Brian what he said, and instead of fire he said firemen.  Now he says when he turns 15 he can be a fireman.

Taking the iPad

Brian has been in New York all this past week for training at work, and we are sure glad to have him back!

One morning Jayden kept asking to play with the iPad, and I kept telling him that Daddy took it with him on his trip.  After about the third or fourth ask, he began to tell me how it's not nice to take things and we need to go get it back.  ;)

I Pledge Allegiance...

Look what my three year old can do!!

MIni-wheats and Fruit Loops

I have been terrible at updating the blog lately.  In our new place we don't have the computer in the living room anymore so I hardly ever get on it (which is a good thing), but that also means I don't update the blog as much.

Anyway, before I forget, I have to try and make some notes about the cute things the boys say and do.  Jayden likes to help me remember things at the store, and the other day Mini-wheats and Fruit Loops were on our list.  The way he said it was so funny!  He'd say "whee-wheets and woo-woops".  I just love the way they talk!

Lincoln loves to talk too.  The other day out of the blue he started walking around yelling "Me!  Me!  Me!"  I don't know what he was volunteering for, but he got some tickles!

Swimming

We went swimming at the Durango Rec Center, and had a blast!  They have a really fun kids area, a lazy river, a whirlpool thingy in the middle of the lazy river that has a fast circular current, and anyone who knows us knows these boys LOVE water!

In the bottom right hand corner you can see the lazy river and the whirlpool inside of it.  Lots of fun!

Brian took videos of the boys going down the slide, which they also loved.  Here is Lincoln.

Here is Jayden.

They had a seesaw that gave my arms a workout!
On our way home we stopped at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and this is what happened to Lincoln shortly after.  Jayden fell asleep too, but at least he handed me his treat when he was done.
We had a ton of fun and now as I am posting this Jayden is asking me if we can go back!  I know we will!

Also, my big boy Jayden jumped off the diving board!  It took him a few tries, but after I went off the high dive, he said he wasn't going to be scared anymore, and he did it!  What a brave boy!

Jayden's hangnail infection

So I guess Jayden got an infection from a hangnail, and it was quite the experience.  This is the before picture, and it doesn't even do it justice.  Poor guy, it was so swollen and while he didn't complain about it, he wouldn't let me anywhere near it.

So we went to the dr, and they drained it and gave us some antibiotic and ointment to clear the wound and infection.  It was pretty traumatic.  Uncle Paul was there helping me, and I think he was almost as freaked out as Jayden was.  Here is the after picture, a few days after we saw the dr., and after it had healed a little bit.  I sure have tough kids, but it was something I'd rather not experience  again!

I want to be 10...

So, Jayden has been talking for weeks about how he wants to be ten, because one day he wanted to stay home while I went to the grocery store, and I told him he had to be ten to stay home alone.

So on the way home last night, here's how our conversation went.

J:  "Mama, me want to be ten."

Me: "Oh really?  Well, how many more birthdays do you need until you are ten?"

J: Counts on his fingers; shows three fingers, then counts the remaining fingers: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.  7 birthdays and me be ten!"

Me: "What are you going to do when you turn ten?"

J: "Um, me go to to the movies!"

Me: "Oh, what movie are you going to see?'

J: "Team Umizoomi!"

Me: "Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun!  Can I come?"

J: "No, me go all myself!"

My heart broke a little.  My three year old can't wait to grow up!

Preschool

Jayden started preschool today!  A group of friends from church decided to get together and do a preschool for our kiddos.  Jayden is so excited, and feels like such a big boy.

He's been talking for weeks about how he wants to be dropped off at work.  After we went to the dentist we stopped by Daddy's work, and Jayden had to walk in all by himself, and after I was finally allowed to enter he kept telling me to go home and leave him there.

Then one day when we were going to the store he said he wanted to stay home, and Lincoln and I could go.  I told him he had to be ten to stay home (just pulled out a number, don't really know what the law is), so now every day he keeps saying he wants to be ten.

The last few days I've been telling him all about school and how much fun it will be, how he will need to be a good listener, etc, and he told me he didn't want to go to school, he wanted to be dropped off at work.

This morning when he woke up I told him today was the day he gets to go to school and he turned to Daddy and said "Today I go to school, Mommy's going to drop me off!"  I don't know what he was more excited about, going to school to play with his friends, or being dropped off!

Here's to my three year old, ready to move out, skip college, and get a job!
